Cat5/Coax roughed in--video update

It's nice to have 'completed' a project in just a couple of days, alongside tidying up electrical stuff. Of course the jacks need to be terminated in the junction boxes but that is far down the line (after drywall). I learned a lot about the rough in process having done the electrical, and as a result I knew the importance of mapping it all out at the beginning and sticking to a plan. This would've taken me a lot longer had I been approaching it like I would have a year ago.

My Dad has been finishing the drains for the last two days and it all looks great. We also picked up our maple floor for the kitchen and earned $40 on a trip to Padnos. Next we'll be able to test the plumbing supply at all the fixture locations. Again, that can't be completed until drywall, but I want to make sure there are no leaks BEFORE a fix means ripping brand new drywall back out. We'll be setting a date for the insulation once we shore up a few weak spots in the exterior siding. Feeling good.

Data cable spaghetti! Another quick video update

Electrical is done with the exception of smoke/CO2 alarm relays and fixtures that get installed after drywall, so today I moved on to pulling Cat5 and coaxial cable. Each bedroom and room will have data, and coax to the bedrooms and living room. For each data location I am running extra wire for telephone or another data port. They will terminate in a patch bay in the basement. Things like coax for television and phone jacks will not be utilized in our lifestyle, but I'd be bummed if people were still expecting that stuff when I went to sell or rent in the future.
